CMKB Profile: Velocifire TKL78
Velocifire TKL78 |
Velocifire TKL78 is an unique layout in that it's actually a "60% w/ arrows + function keys" rather than a "compact TKL", but due to similar number of keys it is regarded as a 75%. You can clearly see that it has arrow keys in the lower right, but the right shift key had been shrank down to 1U and seems to be in an odd place. But otherwise, the layout is fairly standard.
I bought one of these with "brown" switches as a gift for my downstairs neighbor. He likes it and has zero problems. Before I gifted it, I did open it and test all the switches and LEDs. No problems, all lights work, no chatter, no dead switches.
ReplyDeleteThe board had minimal torsional twist trying to twist it by hand. The light modes are a little goofy with on, breathing, and a few full row scrolling modes. Ascetically it looks okay, the space between Row 1 and the Function row makes it look a little goofy. The cable is braided which is a nice touch, but non removable as is expected in this price range. The switches are a bit mushy for me, but I am a Blue / Green / Clear switch fan. These have very minimal tactile feedback, but there is something there if you are a lighter typist.
Overall for the price it makes a good back up board or starter board. I paid 28.99 for this board, and wouldn't pay more than 35 - 40 for it.
